The Wood Products Division's National Research Program (NRP) builds on strong scientific
expertise and knowledge to develop innovative processes and products
in the wood product sector. Our program is built around the following
key areas:
The strategic direction is established by the Division Steering Committee (DSC), which reports to the Board of Directors.
Specific projects in each program area are selected by members of
the Program Advisory Committees
(PACs). Priorities are set on projects which are of greatest importance
to the largest number of members.
Our National Research Program reflects a determination by members
to further enhance the value of wood products and remain globally
competitive. Our NRP is also guided by the degree to which environmental
issues, social pressures on fibre availability and competition from
substitute products influence business and manufacturing challenges.
Our R&D is creative and innovative with a clear focus on moving
knowledge acquired in the lab to member operations in the most efficient
way. Successful technology transfer is a vital part of our commitment
to service and responsiveness. Examples are provided in our latest
edition of Progress
& Achievements.
