structural performance evaluation FPInnovations
is able to provide a series of tests to evaluate the structural
performance of wood products and building systems. Our laboratories
are accredited to meet the requirements of CAN-P-4D (ISO/IEC 17025).
For our Vancouver laboratory, this applies to the Wood Engineering
Department and for the Quebec Laboratory, it applies to the Building
Systems and the Composites Products Departments.
ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation, which in Canada is managed by the
Standards Council of Canada, provides a means of determining the
competency of laboratories to perform specific types of testing
and measurement, and whether this laboratory is performing its work
correctly and to appropriate standards. It also provides a ready
means for customers to access reliable testing and calibration services.
The following links give the scope of accreditation for our Eastern
and Western
Laboratories. It should be noted that our specialists can also offer
testing according to several other standards [e.g., National Lumber
Grades Authority (NLGA), Canadian Standards Association (CSA), American
Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), National Fire Prevention
Agency (NFPA)].
For more information concerning the accreditation of our laboratories,
contact Richard
Desjardins (Eastern Laboratory), Marjan
Popovski (Western Laboratory) or Bill
Deacon (Western Laboratory).
